The Network Support Specialist is independent to provide technical support for the planning, implementation, and maintenance of the network infrastructure for customer. That means a good knowledge of hardware, solutions, firewalls and networks technologies. Besides having the hardware and routing protocols knowledge, the Network Support Specialist has to have extensive knowledge about the most popular protocol stacks (TCP/IP) for LAN/WAN on every layer: DHCP, DNS, SMTP, SSH, IPSec, SNMP. Main responsibilities:

  • Consult and Deployment of complex network projects and manage the operation of these networks

  • Support network solution for LAN and WLAN

  • Manage the Implementation of network solutions

  • Consult the customer new solutions and network strategy

  • Manage internal projects for the IBM Internal account

  • Practical and theoretical fundamental skills for network solutions

  • Consult to Cloud Technologies

  • Strong Communication and Interlock with experts

  • Consult network solutions to IBM internal and our Customers

  • Communicate inside IBM and outside with network vendors

    Skills desired:

  • Cisco Certification CCNA/CCNP/CCIE

  • LAN technologies

  • Knowledge of Non Cisco solutions (Loadbalancers - Checkpoint, Citrix etc.)

  • Knowledge of Routing Technologies (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP)

  • Basic knowledge of Security Solutions (Firewalls, VPN, IPSec, SSL, IPS/IDS, proxy servers, etc )

  • Knowledge in TCP/IP HTTP, DHCP, DNS, SMTP, SSH etc.

  • Practical knowledge in analyzing network traffic (tcpdump, Wireshark)

  • English: fluent or intermediate

    Experience required:

  • min. 2 year experience in complex network environment

  • Service in Cisco Network, Routing and Switching, Administration of Firewall Rules
