Job description

The Project Manager (PM) is directly accountable/responsible for successful project delivery of technology and process engagements. The Project Manager will provide Project Management Guidance/Best Practices, develop/review project plans, develop/manage customer relationships, prepare task orders/proposals, manage project financials, review/approve required reporting, and be involved with staffing (recruiting, interviewing and hiring).

Also, the Project Manager will lead the team in the application of IT Software Development. This individual provides hands-on leadership and direction to the team.

In addition, the Project Manager responsibilities include supporting/identifying/qualifying opportunities, both independently and with other Global Business Services (GBS) Practitioners.

Consultants will be located in an IBM office in the metropolitan area or at an IBM client site.

Selected candidates may not need to travel for all projects outside of their metro area. However, all candidates must be able and willing to travel based on assigned project demand. Travel requirements may vary but could be up to 100%. Candidates are not able to refuse project based on travel.

Required

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • At least 5 years experience in delivering Business Intelligence/Data Warehousing/Analytics Solutions/Projects; full lifecycle solution delivery
  • At least 5 years experience in project planning and leading teams across multiple areas & disciplines
  • At least 5 years experience in identifying, estimating, and presenting costs and schedule aligned with project activities and deliverables
  • At least 5 years experience in tracking/reporting deliverables and managing contracts; managing federal government firm fixed price and/or time and materials contracts
  • At least 5 years experience in managing project scope, risk, changes, issues and day-to-day activities
  • At least 5 years experience in utilizing and applying known PM Methodology - PMI
  • At least 5 years experience in understanding and applying project management processes/tools in an implementation e.g. MS Project/spreadsheets and Earned Value Management
  • At least 5 years experience in Client Relationship Management - managing customer expectations and satisfaction
  • At least 5 years experience in working in the Public Sector Industry
  • Readiness to travel Up to 4 days a week (home on weekends-based on project requirements)
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • English: Basic knowledge

Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree
