IBM Database & ETL Developer in HEREDIA, Costa Rica

Responsible for designing and developing data mart and database components to support a complex business intelligence reporting environment. Must have a strong understanding of relational databases, including data modeling, referential integrity, use of surrogate keys, and using data movement utilities such as export, import, and load. Will be responsible for reading, interpreting, designing, building or modifying, testing, and debugging custom SQL extract and load scripts containing complex business logic with large volumes of data. Ideal candidate has strong SQL skills and hands-on experience designing, developing, and testing extract-transform-load (ETL) processes for data marts or data warehouses using either custom SQL or ETL tools such as DataStage. Must be comfortable researching data and system issues, peer-testing other team members' work, and working on a team as well as working independently.Regular ResponsibilitiesI. Participate in design sessions to understand business rules, data sources, and technical requirementsIII. Design, develop, test, and maintain new and existing database ETL scriptsIV. Research data and system issues reported by customers, work across the team, as appropriate, to identify corrective actions, and coordinate responses between relevant support teams or the customer, as appropriateVI. Design, develop, or participate in design and development of regression testing processesVII. Support development, test, and production environments alike

Must be a self-starter, be able to work independently, be highly responsive for time-sensitive issues, and adjust to dynamically changing priorities. Must be available during US business hours to participate in calls and to support activities throughout the US business day.Fluent English and excellent communication skills is mandatory.
