The Data Center Relocation Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of planning and execution of the Data Center Relocation from a client and/or incumbent’s Data Center to a new Data Center, most often and IBM Data Center in support of a new Transition and Transformation Contract signing. These activities may involve the actual Data Center Relocation/Migration and also Infrastructure Build out for the new Data Center. All aspects of sound Project Management principles are required in the planning and execution of a Relocation or Buildout including:Project Delivery based upon the project plan and runbook created to support the actual RelocationRequirements ManagementPlanning and ControlRisk ManagementQuality ManagementProcurement ManagementRelationship Management of IBM teams and the Client
5-10 years of PM experience in an IT Role .
3-5 years of experience with Microsoft Project.
Basic Understanding of Networking principles (Firewalls, Load Balancers, IP Schema)
Knowledge of Racking, Stacking and Cabling of Servers
Basic knowledge of Data Migration tools (Platespin, Doubletake, etc)
Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical are or PM
Experience of delivering in a similar DC Relo PM role for an IBM data center migration
