At IBM, we're committed to the advancement of open Internet standards and applications as well.The Watson Cognitive Consultant will be working on defined project work for IBM clients in the Public Sector, helping to deliver solutions using Watson products and APIs which will help transform the way our clients operate.The Cognitive Consultant is a critical business leadership position that will involve extensive interaction with customers and IBM executives. Teamwork, negotiation, planning, project management, communication and collaboration skills are needed. The Cognitive Consultant will provide business leadership on the deployment of Watson implementations. They are expected to have a clear understanding of both the Watson technology and the Watson products to allow them to convey both the business value and the delivery requirements.Watson Cognitive Consultants will lead the client and IBM business team through analysis of business value, use cases, information, and processes, considering how best to configure and train Watson to achieve the required outcomes. They then lead the analysis activities, working with the team to analyse and improve the system from a business user’s perspective. They are expected to drive the testing and evaluation of the solution, and set up processes for empirically identifying follow-on steps to implement continuous system improvement. Natural Language Processing and machine learning are explosively dynamic fields; Cognitive Consultants must expect ambiguity, and demonstrate the ability to help customers understand why this exists, and how to develop courses of action on the basis of data driven analysis.Prior experience in leading customer engagements and leading large complex projects is highly desirable. Ideal candidates should have experience with business value assessment, development methodology, business process management and business architecture, IT consulting, risk assessment and mitigation, and IT quality management.Examples of responsibilities includes:

  • Lead key customer planning and requirements workshops to define Watson Implementation and key content

  • Work with client to set goals, objectives and key milestones for services delivery consistent with IBM strategy for Watson. Work with Program/Project Managers and IT Specialist to develop project plans and establish a reliable delivery schedule

  • Lead client and IBM business input and analysis to drive system configuration and improvement activities

  • Identify any issues and problems that need immediate focus and resolution

  • Assess the current and ongoing readiness to achieve solution objectives
