IBM SELIS Technical Business Analyst in DUBLIN, Ireland

The Innovation Exchange Team are currently looking for a person to be part of an ambitious and exciting project with a prestigious consortium within the H2020 framework. The challenge is to collaborate with our partners to design and implement a Shared European Logistics Intelligent Information Space to provide common communication and navigation platforms for pan-European logistics applications. The proposed Shared European Logistics Intelligent Information Space (SELIS) is a network of logistic communities’ specific shared intelligent information spaces termed SELIS Community Nodes (SCN). SCNs are constructed by individual logistics communities to facilitate the next generation of collaborative, responsive and agile green transportation chains. SCNs link with their participants’ existing systems through a secure cloud based infrastructure and provide shared information and tools for data acquisition and use. Connected SELIS nodes provide a distributed common communication and navigation platform for Pan European logistics applications. This is a three year European Commission project. Technical Business Analyst We are looking for a Technical Business Analyst who has experience in driving the business aspects of technology solutions being brought to market/commercialisation. The ideal candidate will have the ability to interface with the key project business, technical and client stakeholders, acquire sign off and review deliveries against what was agreed on a periodic basis. They will also have experience in driving and leading business related outputs, such as feasibility studies, market and opportunity analysis. This is an excellent and high profile career opportunity for the successful applicant who will take up a key role in one of the most ambitious and high profile flagship H2020 projects directly funded by the European Commission. As a Technical Business Analyst you will:

  • Plan, elicit, analyse and document business requirements for stakeholders

  • Assist in driving feasibility & commercialization studies to assess market and commercialization potential

  • Facilitate workshops with the project stakeholders, business and technical, project leads and developers.

  • Liaise between the business, project and software development teams to assist in business requirements of project solutions

  • Facilitate workshops, requirements gathering & analysis

  • Analyse user and business requirements and help translate these into system requirements for the technical/development teams

  • Assist in documenting business related objectives, deliverables, outputs

  • Collaborate with the project teams and stakeholders to understand business needs, processes and work with project leads, technical architects, data architects and developers to drive business requirements.

  • Conduct needs analyses, writing business specifications and business requirements

  • Involvement in the project planning & co-ordination of the business development aspects of the project through the project lifecycle

  • Liaising closely with the stakeholders/clients, and driving the client business needs back to the technical teams


  • 4+ years' experience as a Business Analyst in a fast paced environment

  • Control and monitor evolution and changes on both stakeholder and design team sides

  • Documentation and optimisation of business processes and workflows

  • Solid analytical skills and appreciation of software application, database and system design

  • Experience of working within a complex technical project environment

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong documentation and presentation skills

  • Experience of working in an agile environment

  • Proficiency using Office Tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project and Visio etc.

  • Third Level Degree IT or related discipline with a strong Business Orientation
