IBM Engineer – Tenable in DALLAS, Texas

IBM Cloud Operations Services (SOS) team is looking for additional team members to assist in our growing demand for services across multiple IBM offerings. Candidate should be a motivated team player with strong desire for standardization and automation. The SOS team is designed to solve the most common security and availability requirements of IBM Cloud applications. SOS helps teams standardize on a common set of tools, providing efficiency of costs and capabilities. Our services are developed to support a diverse set of delivery environments of varying sizes including cloud, co-locations, and managed service deployments. The goal of SOS is to provide a common view across IBM Cloud offerings.As an Engineer - Tenable your key responsibilities may include:

  • Building, maintaining, and operating Tenable Nessus scanners as a part of a global installation

  • Configuration management leading towards standardization and automation

  • Troubleshooting Security Center communication with remote Nessus scanners

  • Troubleshooting Nessus Scanner application installs, updates, and patching.

  • Supporting and maintaining Tenable Security Center groups, repositories, and scanning framework.

  • Providing support to users regarding false positives, creating or downloading custom plugins.

  • Providing support to users for reporting features, automation and report generation.

  • Working with other teams in compliance tooling team to enable automation and integration with suite of tools.


  • The schedule for this position is 2nd shift.

  • The work location is our IBM office located in Dallas, Texas.


  • At least 3 years’ experience with Linux Operating System (OS)

  • At least 3 years’ experience with Windows OS

  • Demonstrated experience with system vulnerability management and compliance toolset

  • At least 1 year experience with Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) / Internet Protocol (IP), Firewalls, Network Address Translation-ing (NATTING) and software defined networking

  • Familiarity with Center for Internet Security (CIS) and industry security standards and compliance requirements
