This Technical Delivery Services Center will primarily support US Strategic outsourcing clients, providing server systems operations, security services, and end user services, including maintenance and monitoring of computer hardware and software systems. IBM is seeking Technical Support Specialists who will be responsible for executing the complex Problem and Change tickets for supporting the Mainframe Information Management System (IMS) databases on the enterprise production systems of multiple IBM clients. Incumbent determines requirements to resolve complex Problem or Change tickets. Problems are not routine or standardized, and the creation of documentation explaining the solution to the problem is required. Responsible for implementing changes to the client’s environment.
IT Specialists in this job role will have expertise in one or more server technologies, including different hardware architectures and operating systems. Typical examples of the deliverables are building proof-of-concept solutions with server system technology and architecting server solutions to address client requirements. Primary Job Responsibilities:
Support medium to complex problem and change tickets for client’s IMS databases. Problem analysis and implementation of complex database changes to customer’s system. Support project related long term tasks. Work to standardize repeatable tasks and steps across multiple accounts within a pod while providing coaching and mentoring to the junior team members. This may require creating documentation or scripts that can be used to solve the same problem in the future.
Team members participate in daily discussions on team performance. They discuss issues or challenges, and receive trouble-shooting input /advice from other team members. They may also discuss team performance trends. Team members may also separately interact and exchange information with members of cross-pool teams.
