IBM is seeking Technical Support Specialists who will be responsible for executing the complex Problem and Change tickets for supporting the Mainframe IMS databases on the enterprise production systems of multiple IBM clients. Incumbent determines requirements to resolve complex Problem or Change tickets. Problems are not routine or standardized, and the creation of documentation explaining the solution to the problem is required. Responsible for implementing changes to the client’s environment.
IT Specialists in this job role will have expertise in one or more server technologies, including different hardware architectures and operating systems. Typical examples of the deliverables are building proof-of-concept solutions with server system technology and architecting server solutions to address client requirements. IT Specialists in this job role work with products or solutions based on any vendor hardware and/or any vendor operating system software. IT Specialists who apply their technical skills to support the operation and maintenance of vendor products, services, and solutions. Individuals who are part of Support typically have responsibility for sizing, troubleshooting, and critical customer situations..
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Support medium to complex problem and change tickets for client’s IMS databases. Problem analysis and implementation of complex database changes to customer’s system. Support project related long term tasks. Work to standardize repeatable tasks and steps across multiple accounts within a pod while providing coaching and mentoring to the junior team members. This may require creating documentation or scripts that can be used to solve the same problem in the future.
Team members participate once or more a day in cadence discussion on team performance. They discuss issues or challenges, and receive trouble-shooting input /advice from other team members. They may also discuss team performance trends. Team members may also separately interact and exchange information with members of cross-pool teams.
At least 2 years experience in IBM’s Information Management System (IMS)
At least 2 years experience in MVS skill set using: TSO, ISPF, JCL, SDSF, SAR in varius customer environments
At least 2 years experience in DBA experience maintaining the IMS database Structures – HALDB, Hidam, Hdam, Hisam, Shisam, and Logical relationships on multiple clients
Associate's Degree/College Diploma in Information Technology
At least 3 years experience in IBM’s Information Management System (IMS)
At least 3 years experience in MVS skill set using: TSO, ISPF, JCL, SDSF, SAR in varius customer environments
Basic knowledge in LEAN methodologies
At least 3 years experience in DBA experience maintaining the IMS database Structures – HALDB, Hidam, Hdam, Hisam, Shisam, and Logical relationships on multiple clients
