IBM has announced that we will open a new technology service delivery center in Columbia, Missouri, creating up to 800 jobs and providing high-value information technology services to IBM customers. The new service center will provide maintenance and monitoring of computer hardware and systems to IBM’s business clients in the United States. This Technical Delivery Services Center will primarily support US Strategic outsourcing clients, providing server systems operations, security services, and end user services, including maintenance and monitoring of computer hardware and software systems. IBM’s Technical Delivery Services Center is focused on increasing delivery quality and brings together all IBM worldwide service delivery capabilities for Strategic Outsourcing. This position is located onsite in Columbia, MO. Relocation MAY be considered in rare cases and in those rare cases would only be considered for our key skills and higher level roles BUT no remote work is available for these roles.
Tech Support specialists in this role will determine problem facing the client. Problems are not routine or standardized and the creation of documentation explaining the solution to the problem is required. Responsible for implementing changes to the client’s environment. Project tasks are complex in nature and require customer and technology specific solutions. Incumbents work on processes to make custom work repeatable so junior team members can complete the tasks. Incumbents are also responsible for mentoring and training junior project team members. Pager coverage and offshift coverage would be required.
This position is for a DB2 LUW DBA in a distributed environment(Unix, zLinux and Windows). The candidate must have the ablility to work within a large team structure and take business direction from a team leader. The candidate will be expected to carry a pager and participate in an on-call rotation to provide off-hours support. Candidate will be expected to follow change and problem management for the accounts supported. Project will require DB2 LUW skills to install and implement DB2 software in the Unix, zLinux and Windows environments, as well as to implement DB2 upgrades and Fixpacks. It is also required that the person has the ability to support DB2 Connect on UNIX, zLinux and Windows environments. Preference will be given to any candidate who has LDAP experience in a DB2 LUW distributed environment.
At least 2 years experience in install and implement DB2 software in the Unix, zLinux and Windows enviironments
At least 2 years experience in at least one or more of the following: installing, troubleshooting, operating, testing, planning and configuring DB2 LUW
At least 2 years experience in implement DB2 upgrades and Fixpacks
At least 2 years experience in in at least one or more of the following: hardware, server, network, operating system, software, application, database or other technologies
Associate's Degree/College Diploma in Information Technology
At least 3 years experience in install and implement DB2 software in the Unix, zLinux and Windows enviironments
At least 3 years experience in at least one or more of the following: installing, troubleshooting, operating, testing, planning and configuring DB2 LUW
Basic knowledge in LEAN methodologies
Basic knowledge in Maximo tool
At least 3 years experience in in at least one or more of the following: hardware, server, network, operating system, software, application, database or other technologies
Certified in DB2 Administration
