Objective of the job:The Budapest Indirect Tax Center of Excellence (IDT CoE), established in 2008, provides professional Indirect Tax compliance support for IBM companies in more than 60 countries across the Globe.Being a strategic location for Indirect Tax compliance, the Budapest IDT CoE will continue to expand and enrich its portfolio of activities managed and its transformation journey to become a best-in class Indirect Tax compliance center, drive process improvements and value generation through the course of forthcoming years.
Responsibilities People management key personnel responsibilities are as follows:
Organize, manage and motivate a highly effective team
Empower and develop a team to deliver an outstanding Indirect Tax operations service by developing skills which will help in unleashing potential of the individuals within the team.
Monthly Generals, Interim and yearly performance reviews with employees.
Education, training and career development planning with employees, including quarterly education sessions.
Salary and Bonus planning exercises.
Overall People Management responsibilities
Management key process responsibilities of team are as follows:
Drive efficient and effective Indirect Tax processes through standardisation and teaming between the CoE and Country Tax teams
Manage the Indirect Tax transition activities.
Ensuring that all Indirect Tax returns & associated processes (submission and payment) are completed accurately and on time.
Be the Focal Point for a country or IMT and liaise with their relevant Accounting or Tax contacts on any items which may require attention.
Support any announced customs or internal audits.
Supervision of balance sheet reconciliations as well as to control the additional IDT reconciliations according to Indirect Tax SOX requirements. This will be the completion of the VAT return reconciliation and the Base Revenue & Statutory reconciliation.
Regular operational status report towards the stakeholders / management
Support Business Controls / SACA / Sarbanes Oxley conducted by the Controls and Tax team
Address audit issues and recommendations and retain all required documentation as support to the actions.
Maintain Procedures. These must be accurate and current at all times. These procedures must support the Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
Applied accounting skills and indirect tax knowledge
Strong knowledge in using MS Excel spreadsheets and Power Point
At least 5 years experience in Accounting/Tax
At least 3 years experience in People Management/Leadership
