We are looking to hire an experienced Tax Manager for South East Europe (SEE) countries (Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova, Macedonia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, Albania) who will oversee all tax aspects of IBM’s operation in SEE countries, which includes companies for sales&distribution and service delivery.Responsibility: SEE countries (Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova, Macedonia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, Albania)Responsibilities include:-Taking care of all tax compliance matters for the local entities and tax registrations.-Coordination of tax audits and the relationship with the tax authorities.-Liaising closely with Finance, Accounting and other internal functions as well as external tax advisers.Furthermore, you will be expected to pro-actively identify weaknesses in current processes and identify solutions, to ensure that tax processes are in place and deliver the correct output.Corporate Tax:Review and participate on tax calculation (local tax and US-deferred taxes acc. to FAS109 as prepared by Accounting)Provide guidance to Accounting-function on tax adjustments (permanent/timing)Manage tax return preparation, submission and tax paymentsManage tax reserves for both direct (FIN48) and indirect (FAS5) taxesPrepare tax-reports to US-tax department (where applicable)Review tax account reconciliationsManage withholding tax advisory and complianceLiaise with tax authoritiesManage tax auditsEnsure adequate documentation for tax audits is prepared and storedReview and update local transfer pricing documentation in cooperation with the Tax Center of ExcellenceVAT:Review tax returns and other VAT reportingInstruct input supplier to the VAT process on the tax rulesMonitor VAT paymentsEnsure adequate documentation for tax audits is prepared and storedLiaise with European and Worldwide VAT team on international projectsBusiness Support:Provide tax advice to management and business unitsReview contract proposal and provide tax positionTrack legislative changes and pro-actively inform local management, finance and regional tax functionLiaise with regional tax team on international projectsManage local tax aspects of acquisitions and divesturesControls:Maintain tax processes, identify weaknesses and find solutionsAct as SOX- process owner for tax processesManage local tax adviser engagementsOur various business units and management will seek your expert advice on tax questions in both a local and international context.In the area of tax planning you will form a team with the European and worldwide tax functions, supporting major international M&A transactions and other tax strategic projects.We offer exciting career options, interesting professional challenges, and the opportunity to be part of a global team and of course a competitive compensation package.If you would like to see your future in a dynamic, international environment, then we look forward to receiving your complete application.
