You will have to provide support & consultative assistance in times of urgent/major incidents and should be a strong individual player.What you'll do :• Act as a Technology Subject Matter Expert in SAP Application-Basis team with strong hands-on experience.• Should have performed installations, upgrades, DB upgrades & other configuration or maintenance activities in support of business change program activities.• Work in support of Specialists in the SAP & in collaboration with peers of this role i.e, other Specialists (DBA, AM team members) & Technologists in other parts.• If/when appropriate, support Landscape Managers have to provide BAU oversight & Proactive Services delivery.• If/when appropriate, support Problem analysis leading to architectural pattern re-development & continual service improvement activity (individually & through the SME team)• Support & drive technical initiatives cross landscapes• Present information to peers, Senior managers & Directors often at short notice.• Maintain compliance/alignment to the relevant level of system security access standards to ensure full compliance with the current Security Policies.• Participate in established governance forums, support controls across the team regards management of risk & issue, team reviews, demand and work assignment forums• Align to and make use of existing Innovate, Activate, Operate processes where suitable.• Always ensure where inefficiency or simplifications opportunities exist, catalogue and propose changes to drive improvements.• Maintain technical accreditation in Basis disciplines to support the SME capability individually & for the wider teamHow we'll help you grow : You’ll have access to all the technical and management training courses you need to become the expert you want to be.   • Technical knowledge/awareness of SAP Basis from implementation / Support or consulting background

  • Strong technical skills in the SAP Basis administration arena, acquired through practical experience in installation and support (normally at least 10+ years experience in the field)

  • Experience in similar technical specialist roles

  • Organizational awareness, able to execute correct and proper escalation when appropriate

  • Desire to keep up-to-date with technical developments/vendor products & tooling

  • Able to support detailed planning, documentation and quality assurance processes, especially change control, which will support the timely implementation of enhancements to the server environment whilst maintaining the highest levels of operational service

  • High levels of self-motivation and focus to work with the minimum of supervision and deliver against agreed targets

  • Good communications skills
