Many OpenPOWER partners are porting to or developing software to the POWER platform such as CUDA, JAVA, Ubuntu, MongoDB, Spark, Hadoop, as well as other LINUX, firmware, OS, NOSQL DB, and other middleware distributors. Internet data centers are adopting POWER and many are experiementing with prototype systems they built such as Google. Also, Rackspace is innovating with a POWER OpenCompute platform. The candidate will be a managing one of the development team departments responsible for delivering the processor and have the opportunity to lead in some of our key development tasks. *Required Responsibilities: *

  • Manage a microprocessor team department to deliver an innovative high performance high quality design supporting IBM business goals a high team performance culture that embraces challenge and change

  • Drive continuous transformation embracing new ideas aligned with business value

  • Drive AGILE methods and practices into the development process

  • Deliver a high quality product from prototype hardware to product launch by driving early product evaluation activity

  • Lead and coordinate various teams and workgroups throughout the design and product delivery process to ultimately deliver high quality products

  • Innovate in various aspects of product development and delivery, especially in design and development processes and continual improvement

  • Partner with key product stakeholders inside and outside the immediate organization

  • Capture and report status to development team leadership

  • Perform personnel management activities including coaching/mentoring, hiring decisions, raises/promotions and performance reviews of direct reports

  • Build and grow the team through active mentoring of the current team and also recruiting top talent in the industry and new graduates

  • 2 years experience in hardware or software development management and/or team leadership

  • 5 years experience in hardware or software development experience in microprocessors, servers, systems, system software stack, or applications

  • Background in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering

  • English: Fluent
