IBM Global Cloud Center of Competence, Cloud Solution Architect in Austin, Texas

IBM's Global Business Services, Cloud Center of Competence is seeking a Cloud Solution Architect to join their team. This cloud architect will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of a consulting domain, from sales through solution design, to assisting with the set up of delivery and closure of relevant follow-on business.Responsibilities for this role include the following:

  • Assisting in defining Cloud Application Services portfolio of offerings

  • Provide leadership to bring new Cloud Application Services offerings to the market

  • Assist with the development of education to teach Global Business Services (GBS) sellers how to sell Cloud Application Services engagements

  • Work across multiple industries and geographies making the Cloud Application Services messaging relevant to various industries and markets

  • Provide leadership on Cloud Application Services consulting engagement pursuits and mentoring at onset of project

  • Manage teams of cloud application services consultants within the Center of Competence

  • Develop integrated project and program plans, including defining milestones and dependencies for client pursuits

  • Identify required staffing for client engagements

  • Define scope for a client engagement and associated fees

  • Assist with financial modeling for Cloud Application Services engagements

  • Provide risk management oversight to ensure utmost in quality on Cloud Application Services

Global travel will be required.

  • At least 3 years experience in cloud strategy sales and consulting.

  • At least 3 years experience in one of more of the following: envisioning, designing/proposing legacy-migrated or new cloud application solutions, leading early stage cloud engagements, understanding cloud benefits for IBM growth areas.

  • At least 3 years experience in security implications of proposed cloud solutions.

  • At least 3 years experience in articulating the benefits of leveraging IBM cloud assets and offerings to reduce costs/speed time to market.

  • At least 3 years experience in working as part of a global, virtual team
