The Weather Company, an IBM Business is seeking an Energy Field Sales Representative. The Energy Field Sales Rep will be responsible for establishing and cultivating relationships with traders, meteorologists, trading analysts, energy professionals, and key individuals in banks, trading firms, hedge funds and power and natural gas companies. The Field Sales Rep has sales potential with a variety of B2B opportunities involving weather data via API delivery. This position also interfaces with Oil & Gas sales opportunities through IBM’s Chemical and Petroleum (C&P) team, with an emphasis on North America, equipping IBM opportunities with weather data and solutions. The Field Sales Rep will be expected to meet and exceed business goals within an assigned territory, selling TWC’s Energy-focused products & services to the Energy market segments.
Identify prospects in the assigned territory, qualify the sales needs/opportunities, prescribe tailored solutions, successfully manage the sales cycles—including proof of concept—and close sales
Aggressively develop and manage the major Weather Company account relationships, seeking deeper account penetration and tighter customer engagement
Work and Integrate with IBM sellers for weather data into IBM sponsored opportunities in the Oil & Gas Industry.
Work closely with Marketing and Sales Specialists to implement lead generation and prospecting campaigns
Proactively collaborate with Product Marketing, Forecasting and R&D to achieve the territory’s strategic objectives
Develop and implement a comprehensive territory sales plan, and conduct quarterly reviews that report on the team’s progress against plan
Attend and support trade events and TWC-sponsored symposiums & seminars, with an aim to gather market intelligence and identify/develop new sales opportunities
Actively provide feedback to Management on the competitive landscape, market trends, and other relevant market data
At least 5 years sales experience
At least 3 years Energy Industry experience
Successful track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals
