IBM Cloud Systems / DevOps Engineer in AUSTIN, Texas

Your future made with IBM IBM is now hiring experienced Cloud Systems Engineer professionalsExperienced Cloud Systems Engineer will be responsible for:

  • A combination of system administration and platform engineering with direct responsibility for the continuous builds and ongoing support of multiple clients’ environments.

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain systems, including software installation, update, and core services.

  • Manage users and groups, including use of a centralized directory for authentication

  • Manage security, including basic firewall and Linux configuration.

  • Perform initial configuration of cloud services, deploy virtual machines, perform policy-based management,

  • Create a catalog, provision services, analyze timelines and events, run automations, etc.

  • You need to not only be a top systems engineer with a good track record of delivering, but also excel in communication, leadership and customer focus.

  • 5-7 years Linux/unix system administration and engineering experience.

  • 5-7 years scripting in bash and other languages (Python, Ruby, Perl, etc.).

  • Experience with web and application servers (Apache, Tomcat, Jboss, WAS, etc.).

  • Familiarity with continuous deployment methodology and other common DevOps tools including Git, Jenkins, and configuration tools such as Chef, Puppet, Salt, and Ansible.

  • Good understanding of firewalls, NAT and packet filtering.

  • Good understanding of application level security.

  • 2-3 years experience with OOP / OOD is a plus.

  • 3-5 years of Cloud Engineering/Administration experience, AWS, Azure, and/or Softlayer experience is preferred.

  • Must be adaptable to changing priorities and schedules.

  • Technical Skills: TestRail, Jira, Linux, MySQL, Selenium, Web Services, bash, OOP/OOD, JBoss, DevOps, Agile/SCRUM, Jenkins, Chef, Cloud Architectures – IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS
