The candidate will have excellent programming skills covering multi-threaded & multi-processing applications. Java language preferred with implementation in a Websphere or equivalent environment working with Docker containers and microservices. Ability to generate DB schemas for storing data for analysis and then querying/leveraging that data for accurate decision making. The role is lead designer and developer for IBM's multi-tenant cloud storage layer that manages over 40 PB of primary storage in multiple locations across the globe. The storage access layer component protects the storage infrastructure by handling all storage requests through it ,which means the lead must interact with a variety of consumers of the function and have well documented interfaces and function. In general this is a key technical leadership role in the cloud organization. Storage knowledge is definitely a plus with a focus on IBM Spectrum VIrtualize (SVC) virtualization layer. Knowledge of creating and managing vdisks through the life cycle, SVC limits and restrictions, and copy servers are all highly desirable.Position can be located in the following:Austin, TX; Raleigh, NC; Rochester, MN; San Jose, CA
Deep programming skills with significant experience on multi-thereaded multi-processing applications Java is the language used.
Exploitation of Docker microservices. Storage knowledge is also a large plus but a skilled developer can pick that up as required.
