IBM Client Technical Sales Architect - Public Sector (West) in Austin, Texas

We have an immediate opportunity to join our North America Technical Sales team, as a Client Technical Sales Architect, supporting IBM's key clients in West region. As the Client Technical Sales Architect, you will develop and maintain proven, trusted client relationships at all levels within the client's organization. A strategic thinker and business influencer, you’ll evolve roadmaps and technical plans to enable the strategic goals of your clients, collaborating with client leadership, IBM sales leadership and IBM ecosystem partners. You’ll lead and manage the technical effort in pursuit of innovative solution designs, address complex architectural requirements, create multi-brand business solutions, and select appropriate techniques to implement solutions with our clients. The Client Technical Sales Architect should be able to design and articulate IBM’s point of view on key initiatives such as Hybrid Cloud, API Economy, Cognitive Computing, Internet of Things, and Design Thinking. In addition, knowledge of key trends such as cyber risk, transparency, individual constituent experience, online constituent interaction, digitally enabled continuum of care and accelerated treatment discovery would be highly valued.   • Proven ability to articulate and deliver compelling, industry focused, technical solutions and value in the state, local government, education health and life science ecosystem.

  • Successful track record and experience leading technical projects from design through implementation.

  • In-depth, technical business development, sales and/or consultant experience.

  • Strong collaboration and negotiation skills with ability to lead the collaborative process with both the client leadership and IBM's sales leadership

  • Successful track record in effectively working and leveraging resources cross-functionally in an organization to implement an initiative.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills at all levels of an organization.

  • Driven and self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit and a commitment to excellence in everything they do.

  • Ability to build and maintain positive business relationships with peers and clients.

    This position requires some travel (50 - 70%). The preferred candidate should reside in the Seattle, WA; San Francisco, CA; Denver, CO; Salt Lake City, UT; or Las Vegas, NV area and be able to work at the client site or in local IBM offices, as required.CTSL

  • Basic knowledge in Enterprise Technical Sales

  • At least 3 years’ experience in Developing solution requirements and architectural decisions

  • At least 3 years’ experience in designing, architecting, and implementing solutions in the Financial Services industry

  • Basic knowledge in Leading architectural direction and cross-brand selling
