The Bluemix Platform Marketing team is looking for a solid product marketer with an innate knowledge of challenges faced by software development teams. You know your audience really well, and ideally have been a software developer and/or product manager in the past. You will focus on reaching the developer audience with the right message, and be an internal advocate for that audience. You will work closely with product management, sales and other marketing functions to define campaigns, support sales activities, and influence content creation throughout the buying cycle. You know and understand the open source world very well.This position is based in Austin, TX. So you will need to move to Austin if not already here.Specific responsibilities include: Understand the user & buyer pain points Develop targeted messaging to speak to this audience Develop deep understanding of the competitive landscape Drive activities that will drive adoption and deliver pipeline for the assigned product(s)/campaign(s) Develop content offers and influence content pipeline Build customer presentations Develop non-technical sales enablement materials and sales tools
5+ years of total technology experience
2+ years in marketing or product management for technical products
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field such as Computer Science.
Good understanding of software development and open source worlds
Experience collaborating with teams from across the organization
Demonstrated presentation and writing skills
