A Technical Evangelist and Hands on Solution person that understands Cloud technologies and Platform Development Lifecycles.
The role is that of a pre-sales technical professional who partners with their Cloud Data Services Account Portfolio Representative and SaaS Sales counterpart to work closely with clients to define a Journey Map and positions SaaS solutions that suit their enterprise and LOB needs.This individual is very enthusiastic, creative, highly collaborative, competitive and uses evangelizing techniques to build clients interest in IBM’s SaaS Portfolio. They will help build, and use product demonstration assets in the sales cycle to showcase to the client, by example, the capabilities of the solution. In this role, they will also articulate and plan for a proof of concept, and compare and contrast technology alternatives.They will engage with Clients and IBM Market Experts to define and communicate the technical components that are feasible in support of market centric requirements to generate opportunity identification, sales progression and revenue generation.The individual should be self-reliant, technically sound with hands-on experience using various technologies, understand hybrid cloud deployment architectures and methodologies, application development experience, and have deep knowledge and core skills in Data and Analytics. The scope of this job role includes a deep understanding SaaS offerings, understanding of the Patterns used for "Born on Cloud" SaaS solutions, and their integration need with enterprise application and data. Use the IBM CloudFirst method approach for development capabilities and reference usage patterns & architectures by market. The individual should have a good understanding of SaaS offerings and methodologies, the cloud delivery platform and change processes. They should have a sound understanding of regulatory, legal and professional standards, management of performance of SaaS systems and services in relation to their contribution to business performance. Understands the management of SaaS services across IBM and Platform technology in a SaaS, OnPrem, Hybrid Solutions and Peer Clouds. Responsibilities:Engage with the right IT and Business owner and work with them on Solution Discovery and to align the SaaS product solution and offering to address their needsClearly articulate IBM’s POV for cloud adoption and use, while promoting IBM and Business Partner Services, and Solutions advantages and key differentiators.Work with customers and help position turnkey, or tailored to complex SaaS offerings and overcome technical obstacles. Help the client through the journey of adopting a SaaS product through its lifecycle Lend technical expertise to demonstrate, research and test scenario in the SaaS solution, at times authoring sample code and overcome objectionsBuild a relationship with the Client for adoption, drive success and in using SaaS offerings, at the same time evangelizing SaaS expansion scenariosTravel up to 50%
At least 3 years’ experience architecting, developing, or maintaining production-grade cloud solutions including concepts, architectures, deployment methodologies around private, public, hybrid and peer clouds.
Experience with networking and web standards such as DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, HTTP, web security mechanisms, proxies, firewalls, load balancers.
Scripting experience (Perl, Bash, Python, Ruby, etc.), Database SQL, RDBMS, NoSQL databases like HBase, CouchDB, Cloudant, Cassandra and MongoDB.
Experience working with Spark & Hadoop enabling Hadoop and Open Source Technologies like Kafka, Quarks, Spark Libs, Ranger, Atlas, ElasticSearch, HIVE, HBase, and such on the Cloud.
Hands-on experience developing applications using REST API architectures and web services, like twitter, weather, geospatial.
