IBM Americas Sales Manager for Cloud Platform Sales in Austin, Texas

The Weather Company, an IBM Buiness is hiring an Americas Sales Manager for Cloud Platform Sales responsible for driving sales of the TWC/IBM cloud platform across the Americas. This sales manager will be a role model, lead from the front, inspire their teams, drive a culture of sales eminence and deliver client value and leverage TWC/IBM as a global company to achieve local business objectives.Guiding the sales process is essential, and includes, but is not limited to strategic and tactical planning; understanding client buying behaviors; working with partners and the Channel; accurate forecasting and working closely with the TWC/IBM Cloud Team in addition to extended IBM teams across Marketing, Finance, Development and Product Sales.

  • Participates in key meetings with Customers and actively participates in Customer negotiations with sellers

  • Coach Sales team on sales excellence execution and effectively running opportunities through the sales process

  • Partner with Market leaders, Channel, Pre-Sales and Delivery organizations to ensure success

  • Recognizes team members' strengths – develop strong sales team and coach to gaps

  • Generates customer segment growth year over year

  • Drives pipeline generation and velocity to ensure qualified pipeline is at or above coverage targets for current and next quarter.

  • Conducts pipeline reviews with Sales Team – assess pipeline health Indicators and coach for coverage and attainment

  • Evaluates YTD target attainment and current quarterly forecast status, understands weekly changes and evolution from start of quarter

  • Communicates vision, direction and sales strategies aligned to IBM and Customer priorities


  • At least 5 years sales management experience across infrastructure as a service and/or platform as a service at a key cloud provider

  • Track record of successful Sales Management of a large team including: Excellence in Sales Execution, People Management, Business Management, Opportunity/Pipeline Management, Forecasting, and Cross Organizational
