IBM Ad Product Manager-Watson Ads in ATLANTA, Georgia

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the award-winning, digital team at The Weather Company, an IBM business, to lead a first-of-its-kind ad product: Cognitive Ads powered by IBM’s Watson. These native ads run across our mobile, tablet and web properties, touching more than 200MM consumers every month, and we are working on a syndication strategy, building a scalable ad product that can be run anywhere, in any environment. This candidate will own the strategy and execution of the product, whose recent launch has received a lot of media attention. The candidate will also orchestrate the work of several teams, including engineering, creative, ad operations, measurement, and data science, to ensure high-quality, timely releases. This role can be based in either NY or Atlanta, GA.RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with Sales to help identify new verticals and clients to target, and then take that data back to the team for prototyping and development.

  • Be a thought leader in this nascent space, championing Cognitive Ads internally to other stakeholders at the company and externally to via engagement with media and at conferences.

  • Work closely with our Creative team to guide end-user experience, and to ensure that it aligns with client goals and KPIs.

  • Provide requirements to Engineering team and ensure that the product is built on time and in a scalable fashion.

  • Act as day-to-day contact for relevant vendor relationships to ensure all product needs are supported.

  • Own, track, and report on product delivery and performance.

  • Offer sales support through brainstorming new product ideas, assisting with strategic packaging and product positioning and answering product-related questions.

  • Communicate new ad product capabilities, product launches or updates, and provides training (as needed) with Sales and Ad Operations.

  • Prioritize product pipeline effectively based on company strategies, resources, and time.


  • Previous Ad Tech & Product Management experience

  • Experience working with native advertising

  • Experience working within the online/mobile environment

  • Experience working with AI or AI-like systems (NLP, bots, machine learning, etc.)

  • Passion for working with data driven products

  • Proven success in leading and managing projects

  • Calm under pressure, with flexibility and adaptability to rapidly changing environment

  • Demonstrates resourcefulness in managing the scope of responsibilities

  • Creative, out-of-the-box conceptualizing skills, with ability to work within pragmatic boundaries

  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage a diverse workload and assign priorities to tasks
